What is an "Approved Professional Development Activity"?
An Approved Professional Development Activity is professional development for educators delivered by a qualified presenter that is applicable to your daily practices.  For a list of approved activities CLICK HERE.

Is this a legitimate way to earn graduate credits?
Yes.   Not only is it a legitimate way to earn graduate credit from an Accredited University, we believe this method of learning leads to improved teaching and professional practices.  Because of our emphasis on APPLYING what is learned, each participant is asked to actually put theory into practice.  Because of our emphasis on REFLECTING on this application of the learning, each participant becomes a self-observer, which leads to continual improvement.  It is expected that you will spend 12-20 hours after the professional development activity applying what you learned and reflecting on this application.  The application and reflection is summarized in a written assignment.  For more details about the course completion requirements CLICK HERE.

Will my district accept these graduate credits?
You should consult with the Human Resources Department of your district to answer this question before signing up. Concordia University Wisconsin is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools so the answer is almost always yes but it is better to be safe than to find out after-the-fact that it is not accepted.

I am a professional development provider.  Can I get my presentations approved to offer graduate credit?
Yes!  Professional Development Providers, Conference Organizers, and School Administrators should use our Approval Form so that participants in your events can earn graduate credit.

Is there a lot of work involved to earn a graduate credit?
Yes, it is expected that you will spend 12-20 hours after the professional development activity applying what you learned and reflecting on this application.  We believe this activity will actually lead to better teaching and an improvement in  your practices.   The application and reflection is summarized in a written assignment.  For more details about the course completion requirements CLICK HERE.
